We seven (team leader Mark, Ali, Alice, Holly, Ken, Lara and Jim) met for the first time at the CWB training weekend in Coventry in early February. Lots of fun and enjoyable practice sessions plus a chance for the old hands to pass on some knowledge and tips for the trip: –
- You can never have too many tennis balls
- Three team cricket is fun
- Ugandans drive on the left
- English electric plugs work fine
- A rolex is a lunchtime snack not a watch
Next time we will et together will be at Heathrow on February 28. Not long to go..

We saw that, out of the blue, The Times had published a photo of “Cricket Grannies” in Jinja. This hugely successful programme is being driven by a most enthusiastic local coach Aaron Kusasira following a chance encounter between the ladies and us in March 2024. CWB were coaching children from a local school and the ladies asked if they could have a go at the end of the session. An hour later they were hooked and thanks to Aaron at the Jinja Cricket Academy they’ve been playing ever since.

Yes @cwb we’re always ready to work with the coaches you send and the good work you do for the communities we really appreciate.
Your most welcome to uganda once more.
