Monday the 6th of October started like any other day whilst im Rwanda. Eat, pack up and head to a school. The school in question today was called Love With Actions and they are a school that supports disabled children that have been rejected by family and their community. As we arrived we were greeted by the gatekeeper with a friendly smile and as we were given a guided tour, we were able to see and meet all the children. The disabilities ranged from CP to down syndrome and it was such a pleasure to meet them all. When we had set up the activities, the children sang us some amazing songs and one gave us a welcome speech. We then split into groups as we always would and began to do activities with the children. This was an amazing experience being able to make these children, who don’t get to do this often or even ever, be able to smile and laugh. You could tell they had a great time and the teachers were great too! This for me was a life changing experience and at the end of the session they all invited us to be friends with them, which we accepted. It was a wonderful morning and was certainly one that I’ll always remember.
