Lorry Nightmare!

Today we went to a private secondary school where approx 60 children came to enjoy our cricket taster session… 4 stations were set up – batting/bowling/throwing/relays and off we went.

We were quickly interrupted by a lorry driving straight across the playing area, who promptly got stuck in a deep drain, trying to get off the grass.

Anyway back to the cricket… all children seemed to enjoy the sessions and especially the large game of “rapid fire” in teams at the end (Team Victory, Team Kings, Team Winners, Team Lions). The rules kept being changed by our RCA coaches, but only to ensure more children were able to play for more time (and also as the lorry was still stuck, blocking our minibus in!)

Once the lorry got himself out of the drain; we were able to leave and popped into the second cricket ground in Kagali to catch some of a men’s Division 2 game. A nice lunch back at the hotel before some of the team went to watch men’s cricket at the main Gahanga cricket stadium again.
