We all eventually made it to Heathrow even though one of us went to the wrong terminal. I won’t name names but will give those that know the group the chance to guess who. A kind staff member at check in let us load all the bags without worrying about the weight and we boarded flight some time later.
After a fairly long lay over at the biggest terminal I’ve ever been to in Doha, it was time to Board our flight to Entebbe. A few things we learnt from the layover:
Remember the duty free from the plane
The marble floor is okay for sleeping if you are tired enough
Allow yourself plenty of time for the gate. It was an absolute trek!
We were met by the beaming smiles of Manny and Joseph our long standing CWB bus driver. Manny is a former ambassador of CWB and now is the national coach of U19 team. With no room in the bus we slung kit bags on the roof and set off.
MVP: Joseph for the patience to drive in the dark for our 5 hour journey to Jinja
This is Africa (TIA) moment: Google maps saying it will take 3 hours and it taking 5 hours to Jinja.
After 26 hours of travelling we made it to Surgios lodge for a much needed pizza and drink. Thank you to Lee for pre-ordering for us.
Time for some sleep before our next day ahead!
