As is usually the case on a CWB trip, the team was tossed straight into the deep end on day one! We delivered six school sessions across two rural Palikas here in Koshi Province.
Around 500 children had the chance to hit, catch, throw, and bat during our cricket activities. But rather than me trying to capture the experience in words, I think the email we received that evening from one of the school principals says far more about what we’re hoping to achieve on this visit.
“Thank you very much for your great time to be here with our children at Adarsha Secondary School. You know, cricket is the most popular game among our students. They play cricket inside and outside the school everyday . But without proper infrastructure and coaching, they remain impractical. Today they got the precious opportunity to be introduced with basic skill for a cricketer. They may have felt they are the luckiest child in world today. I hope you and your team will visit our school and meet our children once again. Their innocent faces will be waiting for you.”
