What came first. The goat, or the egg

Well, it's pretty rare that a dinner deserves an entire blog post but hey this is Africa after all.

After arriving, we sat down on about a thousand tables in the middle of a disco dancefloor with dry ice and flashing lights.  Then, the fun started.  As a taster, here are just a few of the highlights:

  • The entire restaraunt had only two menus
  • While waiting over three hours for our food (and reordering three times in that period) we boogied with some locals and the DJ in a cage.
  • A mobile sink came around our table for us to wash our hands
  • Gary, who ordered goat, waited 3 hours to be told they didnt serve goat
  • Gary was offered chicken as an alternative………
  • ……….he got beef stew
  • Leigh was blamed by the waiter for the food being late
  • Reilly got served an empty plate
  • David had a perfectly acceptable Sausage, Bacon, Egg and Chips. The egg was served to him an hour after the rest of his meal, on its own plate
  • We were asked to add up our own bill as the staff did not have any idea what to charge us

And for less than £80 for 17 people, you definitely get what you pay for.

We danced pre and post meal to immense tunes, drank strawberry flavoured wine and tuskers and had a hilarious night dining and dancing! Thank you Kenya!

And now for some photos from the orphanage
