The last day in Uganda can only mean 1 thing – a visit to the wonderful Entebbe Welfare Primary School.
Having been here last year I was looking forward to going back and seeing Berna and all of the children again. We had left them with some equipment last year and wow had they been putting it to good use! When we first arrived they showed us their skills and the results of a year of hard work with a game between themselves before inviting us to join in.
I was blown away by their progress and had a lot of fun playing both cricket and football with the children.
We were invited in to meet the head teacher who told us about an ex pupil Benjamin who had won a scholarship for his cricket at one of the best secondary schools in Entebbe all thanks to CWB introducing cricket to the school and to him.
It was wonderful news to end the trip with and with the school having aims to compete at cricket against other schools in near future I’m sure we will be hearing most great news soon!
