On home straight but no sign of easing up

Tororo is a small town, an hour south of Mbale and close to the Kenyan border but it possesses the same qualities as both Mbale and Soroti with natural scenery and friendly people. The Tororo Rock that looks over the ground we are coaching is an imposing natural feature but after the teams expedition to the Sipi falls there will be no climbing!

We have been joined by Baker (Eastern Regional Development Officer) for the last leg of our journey and an extra member will be invaluable with Phil and Jamie (after a very delayed flight) back in the UK.

The third and final teacher day started bright and early as Florence, our local host who remembers the now departed Mr Burton with a glint in her eye (or was it dust?), suggested all her colleagues would be on site ready for a 9am start. Now, a Ugandan that admits time management is a problem in their country is like the ECB saying their World Cup plan is working to the letter. It’s not happening so by 1015 we kicked off with 18 rising to a full complement of 31 by 11am.

Notwithstanding this all threw themselves into the morning skills coaching and an afternoon of games got them running around to a point where they forgot they are teachers and became kids again. But always thinking like coaches
