Friday started with another festival, this time at the St Andree school, which to everybody’s surprise turned out to have a full size astro turf football pitch! After some of the surfaces we’ve coached on in the last fortnight we almost didn’t know what to do with all the space. The festival took the form of a rapid fire tournament for primary and secondary schools. The standard of cricket from all schools was fantastic and all of the teams could be proud of their performance.
After lunch we headed to Ndera for our last coaching session of the trip. As we arrived a music video was being filmed for a Rwandan popstar by the name of NPC (apparently). I have to say he didn’t seem to convince any of the CWB crew but I’m not sure we’re in his target demographic. Once NPC had headed home we managed to set up a cricket match which allowed the Ndera pupils to show their ability. This is a school that loves its cricket and it really shows. It was a great session to finish on, showing the progress that is being made in Rwandan cricket, something CWB has played a huge part in.
