Have you volunteered with CWB before and where?
Once or twice, flying to Rwanda directly from the CWB project in Uganda will take my current total of projects to 15. I have been lucky to visit all of the CWB countries with the exception of Botswana. As country manager for Rwanda though there is nothing more I look forward to than revisiting this amazing country.
What do you bring to team Rwanda?
I would like to mention all of the coaching and contacts that I have made while out there but I think of most benefit will be my understanding of the best places to eat and drink and more importantly how long we are likley to wait in each establishment, a must after a long hard day coaching in the sun.
What made you decide to volunteer?
A love of cricket and a taste for adventure were the initial reasons I got involved but now it is all about the people I have met along the way and a deep belief in the good that we are trying to do.
What are you most looking forward to?
Seeing old friends, it has been 12 months since my last trip to Rwanda so most looking forward to catching up with our ambassadors Audi, Eric and Mary to see how they are pushing cricket and the important messages forward in their regions.
Also looking forward to seeing all at the RCA as I know there has been huge strides taken in the time I have been away

What made you decide to volunteer?
I was doing my Tutor Training with our Project Leader Lee and he spoke to the whole group about what CWB does and how they incorporate messages about HIC/AIDs with cricket coaching. I have always wanted to travel to Africa and I thought what a great opportunity this was to link together my love of Cricket, my travel bug to go to Africa but also to help people who are in vulnerable positions and hopefully make their life better.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am most looking forward to the challenge of coaching over 200 children at the same time, seeing the joy on the children’s faces while playing a game they may never have played before, experience of a different culture and meeting the people of Rwanda.
