We landed a little late following delays caused by Storm Dennis but that didn’t stop us getting straight into things up in Rubavu. Having got the basics sorted at the airport (cash and unlimited internet connection!), we met up with Eddie, our bus driver, who took us straight up to Rubavu following our overnight flight to do some Coach Education. Alongside the Coach Ed, ably led by Gabby, JS and Phil, the rest of us introduced the game to a small group of Pfunda Tea Factory workers.
Even heading straight up there we were a little late (which is never a problem in Africa!), which meant swiftly changing into kit on the bus/en route and then getting straight into things as soon as we arrived. We were greeted very warmly by coaches and players alike which kept us going, but it’s fair to say most in the group were desperate for their beds by the evening.
