Our final session was at Mophato School where we joined a group of experienced juniors in the age range U15-17, who regularly played competitive hard ball school matches.
We split them up into bowling, batting and fielding groups, with every boy doing a drill or net session with us. We spent 2 hours with the children. Hopefully the skills we taught them will help one of these boys will go on to play for Botswana one day.
At the end, we reminded them of the important ABC AIDS/HIV awareness messages that was our primary reason for being there.
We’ve all had a great time, made some new friends, coached 89 new cricket coaches made about 1300 children smile whilst playing cricket. It’s been a great experience for us. I’m sure we will all return at some point in the future.
To be continued in 2013……………..
