The Botswana boys are on their way; we're flying out this weekend for out our adventure.

 We are:

Paul Rogers  – Our leader:

He is 49 years old and of age and is a business development manager He has played cricket for 35 years at club level and representative level 3 years with his current club Weoley Hill CC 2 of which as captain plus many years captaincy experience at all levels with different clubs

Also he is the volunteer manager for Warwickshire county cricket club under 15B team; a role he has done for the past 4 years and has seen players progress to the academy which has given him satisfaction by seeing youngsters progress.

He hopes to gain valuable experience of dealing with people less fortunate than himself and to make a difference to their lives no matter how small and also the possibility to work in cricket or charitable organisations permanently also gaining experience in challenging environments

Dr Mark Campbell:

Mark is a qualified social worker and has been working with children for over 25 years.  He has been involved with child protection, for children who are unable to live with their families and children affected by HIV/AIDS. He has managed teams working with disabled children and currently manages a team working with children who are in public care.

He has been playing cricket for over forty years and is a qualified ECB Level 2 coach and Club Welfare Officer. He has wanted to visit Botswana since leaning about the Kalahari and the Magadikadi Pans whilst studying geography at university.

Charlie

Charlie works in sports development with a charity called Essex Boys and Girls Clubs.  Cricket is his passion and he is a keen player as well as being a qualified level 2 coach.  He is looking forward to the challenge of working in a different culture, and especially looking forward being warm in November!!!

Dave Chisholm

He is a freelance IT consultant currently working at banks and universities and has played cricket for 27 years, 24 if which for his club Portsmouth and southeast www.pands.hitscricket.com where he has set up the colts section which now has 6 teams and 2 years ago came 3rd in the country at under 15s.

He has been first team captain three times for 9 years in total.  Due to him work being away from home a great deal, he can no longer coach kids as often ashe would like. That and the death of his father in February are the reasons behind him undertaking this trip.  All he wants from this trip is to feel like he hasmade a difference no matter how small and bought some happiness to people less fortunate than himself.

Suresh Thalange:

He is a 47 year old cricket parent whose son represents Leicestershire u10's as a wicket keeper. he has been a cricket nut all his life and is now an ECB Level 2 coach, who can be found coaching somewhere most weekends, indoors or outdoors.

He is looking forward to helping those less fortunate than the those he normally coaches.

Scott Warren:

He is the baby of the team and at 18 years old has just finished college.

A very keen sportsman, Scott plays many sports but has a passion for cricket and currently plays for Newick 2nd XI playing his part as a dodgy middle order batsman. He volunteers at his cricket club as an assistant coach and is excited about getting the opportunity to coach children much less fortunate than the local children that he is used to.
His hobbies are Cricket, Travel and anything to do with cars. His mum is from California so every summer he gets to be a Californian for a couple of weeks.

His claim to fame is that he's had a chat with Nelson Mandela whilst holding his hand. He was 4 at the time and they discussed Scott's sunglasses.
