Three of our Jinja family, Oxy, Eddy and Arron made the trip to Lugazi to coach with us again and it was sooooo good to see them again..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Thin Lizzy – The boys are back in town blasting from the stereo we set off to meet some important people at the Lugazi municipal council buildings. The Minister for Education and Sport gave us a history of Uganda and some lovely school children talked about their county. The Minister and the Town Clark talked of their appreciation of our work and how privileged they feel that we have visited their area. We finished by singing the Ugandan national anthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest of the morning was spent doing teacher training at St Andrews. It was great to see how engaged and excited they all are to be introducing cricket to their children. This ended with a match Team Becky vs Team Tarn. Somehow half of Team Tarn disappeared but that didn\u2019t affect the outcome as they won 46 to 44 even with half a team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon we split in to team Samuel and team Brian and visited a school each for a few hours. The school I, and the rest of team Brian, arrived at was set in the most stunningly beautiful landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However the quality of the site didn’t match the quality of the view. There wasn\u2019t a flat bit of ground to be found but nonetheless we put on a high energy batting session, a bowling session and a fielding session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At one point Arron and and me were coaching fielding to 80 kids, before I came here I wouldn\u2019t have thought that possible but it\u2019s amazing what can be achieved. I did get mobbed at one point as all the kids wanted to touch the mazunga which was lovely and rather like being a rock star.

We ended the sessions with some games of continuous cricket, which went down a storm, followed by a dance off between Yolanda and Mark which the kids loved.

We were all finished by 4:30 which has been unheard of the whole time we have been here. This little one helped pack the kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we all retired to the pool for a well earned dip. Lots of splashing and laughing was a perfect end to the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
