If any proof were needed that cricket is a game for everyone we got it at St Edwards primary school this morning. The Sister in charge of this Catholic school gleefully threw herself into the session learning to bat, bowl and catch with her children. Although her running between the wickets for rapid fire left some room for improvement. Still with more practise she will undoubtedly pick up the habit.

Later we had two opportunities to meet with Family Spirit, firstly on the sports field for coaching and then a hosted visit to the school and orphanage.

Both humbling and inspiring at the same time the staff do an amazing job caring for nearly 300 children providing a safe environment in which to grow up and hopefully flourish. An insight too into the troubles of this region of Africa with so many displaced people. Its hard not to come away deeply affected by the experience. We wish the Family Spirit well in tomorrow’s festival.
