What you cannot know but no doubt hoped for is the massive difference you have made, you would be warmed to the very fabric of your being.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday Morning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-129 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Chris-1024x971.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Chris-1024x971.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Chris-300x284.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Chris-768x728.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Chris.jpg 1517w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An amazing start to the morning as Mark had over 60 children going through our ABC messages in rhyme substituting \u2018Head\u2019 with \u2018Abstain\u2019, \u2018Shoulders\u2019 with Be \u2018Faithful\u2019, \u2018Knees\u2019 with \u2018Condom use, and \u2018Ball\u2019, (when the children grab the ball) with Testing.<\/p>\n<p>Our group was over three hundred children in the morning, some with only a smattering of English so your demonstrations had to be spot on. I was doing catching practice, first in four large groups gathered in a circle and then in parallel lines doing a lot of activity followed by a test. Great opportunity to reinforce the need to regularly test.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-128 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-03-at-16.25.47-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-03-at-16.25.47.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-03-at-16.25.47-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-03-at-16.25.47-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/>The other two \u2018stations\u2019 were practising the bowling, batting and throwing skills, gradually building the skill levels making sure arms were straight and both hands were on the bat. An exhausting morning and the advice to have throat lozenges imparted on our training weekend was proved to be spot on.<\/p>\n<p>After an excellent buffet lunch one team went to Kichwamba Primary School whilst another group stayed at The Nyakasura Oval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Afternoon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We were coaching a secondary school in the afternoon and we got them together and asked them what their aspirations for life were. Now I was a secondary school Chair of Governors for seven years and have often asked this question of years 10\u2019s. I\u2019ve had answers like \u201cWin X Factor\u201d or \u201cMarry a footballer\u201d or just to \u2018be a celebrity\u2019. Our answers were;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-130 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Whack-it-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"367\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Whack-it-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Whack-it-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Whack-it-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Whack-it.jpeg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 367px) 100vw, 367px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be a doctor\u2019<br \/>\n\u201cTo be a judge\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cTo become a surgeon\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI want to be a civil engineer\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1em\">\u201cTo be a pilot\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then the last girl we asked;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to be the best sportswoman in Uganda!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And that for me was one of those heart in the mouth moments that even as I\u2019m writing it now I know I will remember for ever.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-135 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Awooga-1024x769.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"342\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Awooga-1024x769.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Awooga-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/uganda2017\/files\/2017\/10\/Awooga-768x577.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So to return to my dedication in the first paragraph, thank you all especially (to be selfish as is it my blog) Redlynch and Hale CC, and Toft CC and Behrens Sport, the latter who donated bags of cricket clothing and the former where my friend is Chairman who raised money for CWB throughout last season.
