Our first night at Goodness Gracious Me hotel, and the team seemed to have survived despite lack of alcohol, power cuts and showers being TOO hot!
The morning starts well with a group of 26 teachers for coach ed. This continues as their confidence builds through out the session.
We stopped off at Sizzlers Takeaway for a spot of lunch. Slight communication breakdown when 8 spiced teas turn up instead of the expected 8 samosas. This having taken 30 minutes and Derek’s intervention to sort out. Anyway when the food arrived it was very good but left us in a hurry to get to the first school of the afternoon.
Afternoon sessions went well with lots of participation, lots of ABC messages and lots of giggling adolescent boys. Two girls were seen sharing a pair of flip flops to stop their feet burning on the ground and Lois got over excited when she spotted a rugby ball at one of the schools!
Tired, hot but happy the CWB team returned to Goodness gracious Me Hotel for some spiritual guidance and then prepared to hit the town in search of food and alcohol.
Highlights of the evening included Derek’s full-on sulk when goat was off the menu, Colin’s crack about Cuban Eels and the worrying fact that Bristol youth were in ‘safe hands’.
The younger-ish ones were left in the Restaurant, so there may be more tales but you won’t read about them here!
