South Zone brings together a number of local schools to enable children from all backgrounds to learn and play cricket. Alongside sports development, the initiative also integrates health and social education to develop fully rounded individuals and equip them to succeed at life.

South Zone aims to encourage schools to introduce cricket as a full time sporting activity throughout the year and ultimately to create a league for all to participate and play in.

South Zone can provide an avenue to develop talent in children so that they can progress to reach their full potential and up to national age group teams. This is balanced with an inclusive outlook to provide equal opportunities to all participants and to promote determination, resilience, team work and accountability in all. South Zone also promotes HIV awareness and prevention messages and educates on FGM.

South Zone aims to support the community by providing a way for sports talent to remain in the community. Schools that introduce cricket to their activities will become popular and facilities at participating schools will be made full use of.

South Zone was founded and is led by Nicholas Oluoch, a qualified cricket coach. Nicholas believes that by empowering the young through sport, benefits are seen by the whole community.

South Zone believes that the benefits of the initiative are seen by the whole community. Sponsorship is welcomed from local businesses, organisations or individuals.
