Abi Sakande

Hi everyone, I’m Abi, a former professional cricketer for Sussex and Leicestershire. I’m from Burkina Faso and the UK. I retired from playing cricket 2 years ago and have now joined the Civil Service. I enjoy coaching, and I’m looking forward to joining in with CWB’s mission and experiencing a new culture in Rwanda!
Anna Harris

My name’s Anna and I’m here as part of my medical degree elective. I’ve decided to volunteer after hearing about the charity and getting FOMO from all my mum’s trips with CWB! I’ve played since age 5 and now umpire internationally so I’m really excited to share my passion for healthcare and cricket with the children and ambassadors.
Charlie Wilkinson

Hi, I’m Charlie. I’m retired, a former village cricketer and now keen supporter of England and Kent. This is my first trip with CWB and to Rwanda. I am really looking forward to being part of the team and to coaching the kids cricket as well as seeing Rwanda and learning more about it. I don’t quite know what to expect and that is part of the excitement, but I am sure it will be a fantastic enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Jonathan Mulcahy

Hi everyone! My name is Jonathan Mulcahy, I am retired, and a cricket umpire and coach. This is my third CWB trip having been to Uganda and Nepal in 2024. I am really looking forward to helping with coaching children and teachers alike, and of course seeing The Land of a Thousand Hills!
Sarah Wilkinson

Hi I’m Sarah Wilkinson! I have no cricket experience but have enjoyed watching my husband, Charlie and our son play endlessly over the years. I’m really looking forward to my first CWB trip to Rwanda, seeing some of this beautiful country, getting to know the other volunteers and helping to coach the fantastic school kids we will have the privilege of meeting
Sean (Ned) Kelly

My name is Sean but everyone knows me as Ned. I started playing cricket at 20 but wish I started earlier. I am now associated with 4 cricket clubs and run the local T20 league. I have never been to Africa so this was an opportunity to explore part of the world I have never been to whilst also giving many kids a chance to play the game that I love.

Yolanda Harris
Yolanda Harris, Cricket umpire and scorer. This will be my 6th CWB trip in two and a half years and my second visit to Rwanda. Rwanda is a beautiful country and I look forward to seeing it again, playing cricket with the children and learning more about their lives and communities. Cricket is such a powerful game for Getting people together to have fun and can have a positive impact on lives. The smiles and laughter are what make me keep coming back to volunteer!
Dan Pledger

Hi everyone, I’m Dan Pledger and I have the privilege of project leading this trip. This is my fourth CWB trip and second visit to Rwanda having visited in 2023, and I first got involved with CWB in 2013. I’m part of the CWB delivery team and if you’ve applied to go on one of our trips, there’s a good chance we’ve met. Rwanda is a truly phenomenal country and I’m looking forward to visiting places I didn’t reach last time, coaching many more children, and hopefully catching up with some old friends along the way
