Ally Darlow<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This will be my first ever trip with CWB and hopefully the first of many. I\u2019m really excited to work alongside a fantastic team in Rwanda using cricket to make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside of CWB I work for my local county board in Bedfordshire & Huntingdonshire and I\u2019m excited to put my experience as a full-time coach into action in Rwanda!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Pledger<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This will be my third CWB project having previously visited Uganda and Kenya. For various reasons, it hasn’t been possible for me to commit to a trip for 8 years and I’m incredibly excited to be visiting Rwanda for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Away from the charity, i work in impact and evaluation for a not for profit in the education sector and I’m looking forward to sharing tales from this trip with pupils at my local school where I am a governor.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gary Shankland<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rwanda was the location of my first CWB project over 10 years ago and I have seen the great strides the RCA and our ambassadors have made in developing and spreading cricket since then. We are now seeing some amazing female cricketers making a splash in the international scene, many of whom were first introduced to the game by CWB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im really excited to see the further developments in the four years since I was last there (thanks, Covid) and also catch up with a few old friends. Sadly, I fear my Kinyarwanda may have gotten a little rusty though!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lee Booth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Being a regular visitor to Rwanda since my first CWB project in 2010 I am as excited as ever to get back out there to catch up with old friends and to make some new ones. Having been fortunate enough to help discover some of the players who did so well in the recent u19 women\u2019s world cup I am looking forward to seeing what sort of a boost this must have given Rwanda cricket and hopefully I can help to inspire and enthuse the next generation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m another first time CWB volunteer and first\ntime visitor to Rwanda. It was very inspirational to see cricketers playing for\nthe Rwandan national team who first picked up a bat at a CWB coaching session,\nso if we can have anywhere near the same impact on this trip it would be\namazing. With this great team we’ll be guaranteed to have a lot of fun anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Normally I work as a marketing data analyst and\nam a keen sportsman and also enjoy attending music and comedy gigs in my spare\ntime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I got the CWB bug back in 2017 when I went on\nmy first trip to Uganda. Every trip is such a memorable experience that I keep\ncoming back for more. This will be my third time in Rwanda, the last time being\njust a week or so before the world locked down for Covid in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve got the bug to such an extent that I’m now\ndoing a Masters in Sport and International Development and seeing whether I can\nmake sport for good my career. Rwanda is such a beautiful country – I can’t\nwait to get back out to see old friends and make new ones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ali McCreedy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Not being able to go on a project\nfor 3 years really brought home how important they are to me. Having been out\nto Kenya in October I want to take every opportunity I possibly can, and can\u2019t\nwait to get back to Rwanda. Sharing cricket with hundreds of excited children\nis an amazing privilege, and it\u2019s a thrill to see so many smiling faces wanting\nmore. I never fail to be humbled by how valuable a used tennis ball can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still play cricket, am involved\nin lots of admin, and am a lifelong supporter of Sussex. Having retired\n(early!) after 30 years as a pharmacist, I now coach cricket part time. I\nfigured if I can manage a session while a herd of cattle is driven across the\nground, how hard can it be in Surrey?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Harry Darnell<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I am incredibly excited to be taking part in my first CWB project, especially after my original plan to go to Uganda in 2020 was scuppered due to COVID. I can\u2019t wait to get out to Rwanda with my new teammates and help to make a difference in the communities we\u2019ll be visiting, building on the great work CWB has done for many years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my normal life I am a civil servant and live in London. I love pretty much all sport (in particular cricket, football and tennis) and I also enjoy playing the guitar and singing.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nick Glanfield<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This\nis my first trip with Cricket Without Boundaries and I am very excited to be\ngoing to Rwanda with such an amazing team to promote HIV\/AIDS health messages\nand to link to cricket!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a background of coaching cricket through many different age ranges and I am a director of a sports coaching company called Achieve4All in Devon. \u00a0I am passionate about inclusivity and I know that CWB has this theme as well. I very much I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to achieve their potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following on from our training weekend in Coventry, I know we have an amazing team going out to Rwanda, it should be great fun and very rewarding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yolanda Harris<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pictured with international umpire (and daughter) Anna Harris at Gqeberha for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. I am a director of my county cricket board and also an umpire and scorer. I got involved when my daughter started playing and I have recently started officiating visually impaired cricket, which adds another dimension of difficulty. I am one of the operators of the scoreboard at The Oval, which can get particularly stressful during fast-paced matches like The Hundred. I went to Uganda with CWB last September and loved it, so have signed up for my second trip, this time to Rwanda – as soon as the World Cup is over of course. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
