After a relaxed start to the trip we headed into October with a busy second day of coaching. We visited 2 schools, and completed 5 sessions of coaching. The morning started with a series of good progressive drills followed by rapid fire as a fun game for the second half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The afternoon, though, was chaos! We turned up to the school while the kids were still at lunch, meaning about 250 kids who spoke very little English ambushed us at the start. Ali and Michelle were trapped in the middle of a huge group, but eventually we got a few fun games going. Once most of the kids went in to class, we ran 2 further sessions with both primary and then secondary school kids. It was great to see so many kids having so much fun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In particular, it was great to meet 13 year old Anette, who has been voted as the best wicketkeeper in Rwanda for her age group. A future star for the national team I’m sure, and it was really inspiring to see how cricket has provided these opportunities for her.\u00a0She is currently playing in the under 15’s national team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finishing off with some nice dinner (off a menu this time!) and looking forward to another busy day tomorrow!
