{"id":215,"date":"2019-10-11T06:23:27","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T06:23:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/rwanda2019\/?p=215"},"modified":"2019-10-11T06:23:28","modified_gmt":"2019-10-11T06:23:28","slug":"rollercoaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/rwanda2019\/2019\/10\/11\/rollercoaster\/","title":{"rendered":"rollercoaster"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It has been yet another emotional rollercoaster day for the team!\u00a0We started the day with a visit to the Kigali genocide memorial, where some 250,000 Rwandans are buried, in order to learn more about the history, the events and the impact. It was heartbreaking and very difficult to process, but important to try and understand and face Rwanda\u2019s past to be able to support its future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, after a harrowing early morning the team moved onto the MEG foundation and if anywhere could lift ones spirits, it was this place&#8230;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/rwanda2019\/files\/2019\/10\/7273A2C8-FEBC-483D-AC6A-E0A40933652C-e1570773692201-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/rwanda2019\/files\/2019\/10\/7273A2C8-FEBC-483D-AC6A-E0A40933652C-e1570773692201-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/rwanda2019\/files\/2019\/10\/7273A2C8-FEBC-483D-AC6A-E0A40933652C-e1570773692201-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/rwanda2019\/files\/2019\/10\/7273A2C8-FEBC-483D-AC6A-E0A40933652C-e1570773692201.jpeg 1512w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption>MEG Foundation never fails to entertain <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Every child had bright smiling faces, sang us songs on arrival and more importantly they knew they\u2019re ABCT\u2019s inside out. This was where we got to see tall Eric work his magic with the younger children and saw first hand just how good he is with them. The kids were hanging on his every word, as were the team, as he tricked us all with his version of \u2018Simon says\u2019! Once it relented we moved onto St Agnes where, again, their English and their ABCTs were phenomenal. Possibly the best of the project<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We rounded the day off at the \u2018end of project\u2019 RCA dinner, kindly hosted by the British High Commission and the team we\u2019re out in force in their new \u2018tour shirts\u2019. The evening was an emotional one for me seeing Dad speak so fondly in front of the people that have made him a better adult, him telling them that he is stepping down as country manager.
