Fundraising played a big part in this trip for the team, as we needed to raise £1400 each to cover all costs. We started fundraising in October 2017, as a team we found the experience exciting but also challenging as we hadn’t done any fundraising on this scale before. We decided to begin our fundraising before Christmas which gave us the perfect excuse to throw a big Christmas quiz. The quiz was very successful with over 80 participates showing up to show their support. Further on within the year we decided to run a car wash, this event was popular with the university staff as well as a fair few students. Overall we managed to wash 30 cars raising over £150 in one morning! Some of the money we raised will go towards the equipment that we will take with us into Rwanda to donate to the local school where we will be coaching.
