No doubt some villagers have noticed in recent weeks a few tubby lads circling the boundary of the cricket field. This is in preparation for the main fundraiser for my trip to Rwanda the first (and probably only) Thurstonland CC marathon.
I have measured the diameter of the boundary and this came out at 355 metres leading to the following:
Marathon length = 26 miles 385 yards
Marathon length in metres = 42,195
42,195 / 355 = 118.86
But 118.86 sounded a bit easy (and difficult to measure) so we have decided to run 120 laps.
This will take place early on the morning of Saturday 11th September and hopefully the plan will be to have some form of event in the afternoon after the hopefully successful completion of the marathon.
Any and all sponsorship would be most welcome to help towards this worthy cause of helping to spread HIV/AIDS awareness messages in Rwanda.

I will also be collecting at the cricket club.
Many thanks in advance.
