Day 7 Farewell Kigali, Hello Nyanza!

This morning was my morning off along with Liam who suffered a case of sunstroke from the day before. Although to be fair many of us think it was something to do with the Ugandan gin he was drinking. The rest of the team went their separate ways with Jules heading of to do her scorers coaching and the rest to Kagarama school for a session with 120 kids.

Those of us left behind had a relaxed morning in the hotel next door. Whilst there we did watch a bit of the Rwandan Open tennis final between a couple of Austrians. It wasn’t a long final, Gerald Melzer younger brother of Jurgen, took home the trophy (not that we saw any trophy) in 6-1, 6-0. After the conclusion of the match young Chesney Hawkes (Liam) took down the toothbrush we swapped for some coaching cards and a ball earlier in the week. The confused Austrian however did give him a sweatband for the toothbrush.

Now it was time to jump on Eddie’s fun bus and head south to Nyanza. The views were stunning as we drove around the rolling hills. We were not sure what to expect in Nyanza as CWB hadn’t stayed here before but we have hit a little jackpot and everyone is happy. DSC07273

For the night time entertainment we hit the jackpot! Walking down the street we found a little place that had a live band, awesome! We were possibly the first group of white people that had been in the bar so we were looked after like royalty. People danced away into the night busting out more than a few shapes. #TIA
