It was great to be back in the coaching shoes of CWB. It\u2019s new in Nepal however the enthusiasm is just as passionate. The day planned, we split our group of six into 2 and joined our Sabal Nepal coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walked with our gear to school one where we were welcomed by a beautiful science teacher Binita, who really encouraged the girls and boys to participate in sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off to the grounds a large expanse rugged in places and cows tethered. Straight away I would see our role of supporting the coaches with ideas of teaching and all having fun. The role of demonstration came into its own, with the children who didn\u2019t speak English copying as to  how to break down the skills of catching, having fun with competition and the boys and girls playing together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The afternoon included a community cricket afternoon  which the local coaches have set up for all children from the schools. The amount of girls was amazing and the varied quality of some of the children was amazing and they helped others. A big improvement in total numbers and gender split from when CWB was here 6 months ago which is testament to the efforts of the local changemakers. To hear that there were only 2 girls at the first community session here was amazing – 2 years later the session had over 150, the majority of which were girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To seal the day teacher Binita invited us for chai at her families home, meeting the family and eating dwarf home grown bananas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
