Meet the team of CWB volunteers that will soon be off to Nepal to deliver cricket and gender equality programmes with the local coaches and changemakers based in country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having first visited Nepal in 2018 with CWB I am looking forward to catching up with old friends and seeing how many more women and girls are now playing cricket in Biratnagar and Rajbiraj. Helping the Cricket Change Makers blaze a trail and having a positive impact on their communities is also something I can\u2019t wait to be a part of. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favourite biscuit: <\/strong>Can\u2019t go wrong with a custard cream. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who inspires you?<\/strong> All the amazing CWB ambassadors across the globe that I get to work with on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batter, bowler or specialist fielder?<\/strong> Should my knees hold out for 1 more year I should get to 1,000 first team wickets but would always describe myself as a batter, I\u2019ve just been badly captained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m the bonus pair of hands for the team! I\u2019ve been in Nepal for the last 4 months working on the Cricket Changemakers project for my PhD. Really looking forward to the team connecting to the coaches, Changemakers and players here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who inspires you? <\/strong> Lee Booth, my mum, and the Changemakers <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batter, bowler or specialist fielder?<\/strong> Right arm over and bat for the draw <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have always wanted to visit Nepal. I love mentoring, especially girls to believe in themselves and this project will give me more skills.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favourite biscuit:<\/strong> Ginger biscuits are the best<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who inspires you? <\/strong>People inspire me, all ages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batter, bowler or specialist fielder?<\/strong> You may not want me on your cricket team, however I can teach you how to catch, bat and bowl…and I can run!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have worked in cricket all my working life and to have the opportunity to give something back to others is amazing. Nepal is an exciting place which I can’t wait to visit and support more women and girls to play the incredible sport of cricket.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who inspires you?<\/strong> Jackson Lamb, nuf said! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve grown up watching a LOT of (men\u2019s) cricket, but playing cricket as a young girl in India (unless you\u2019re on the streets with your brother) didn\u2019t exist much. As an adult, my love for cricket rekindled with a different lens\u2026 women\u2019s and para-cricket. I strongly believe that sports can be a powerful tool for engagement, inclusion and development, and I\u2019m excited to have the opportunity to bring the cricket playing experience to young women!   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favourite biscuit:<\/strong> Do those humongous gooey Ben\u2019s cookies count?!?!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who inspires you? <\/strong>Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami.. and other pioneers in women\u2019s cricket, breaking the systemic barriers that exist around women playing sport and truly fighting for their passion.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batter, bowler or specialist fielder?<\/strong> \u2060I love holding a bat & swinging it but I have to admit I miss hitting the ball probably 50% of the time – it\u2019s ok, my enthusiasm far exceeds my skill!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having volunteered on various African CWB trips, I’m so looking forward to coaching in Nepal for the first time, working with the changemakers. I believe in the power of sport to engage with people and help deliver change where change is difficult, so I volunteer whenever I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favourite biscuit:<\/strong> Jaffa cakes, (mostly selected as Lee won’t like them being termed a biscuit!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who inspires you?<\/strong> In sport: Jimmy Anderson for his skill and longevity, the England netball team that won at the 2018 Commonwealths, the Lionesses that won the Euros in 2022 and got to the final at the World Cup last year. Outside of sport, my kids inspire me every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
