I’m Warren, Cricket Coach, Second XI Stalwart, and firm believer that enthusiasm can make up for at least some lack of talent. When I am not coaching or helping run my local club or chasing leather on a Saturday, I enjoy ruining a good walk by playing golf and going out with my family. This is my second Cricket Without Boundaries trip- the first was to Rwanda- I’m still amazed that they have invited me back.

Hi I’m Wendy from Hampshire , semi retired Nurse who loves playing cricket and involved with our local club fundraising for MIND, Help for Heroes and Copafeel. This is my first trip with Cricket Without Boundaries.

So why CWB? Both my husband and a great friend had both volunteered with CWB in Rwanda and Nepal and told me what a life changing experience it was. I may not be a coach (yet) but I love cricket, and enjoy playing cricket. What a great opportunity to give back to others and to experience different cultures and meet new people. An absolute privilege to head t0 Nepal .

My claim to fame ? During the pandemic the ECB launched the ‘raise the bat’ campaign, which highlighted key workers in cricket that were helping support their community during those challenging times. I ended up being featured on a Billboard on a roundabout in Southampton outside Ikea , I know, glamorous hey ? But my name was printed on Dom Bess’s playing shirt which I received autographed but promptly washed it !! So if anyone is friends with Dom Bess , can I have my shirt signed again please ??

I’m also an Author and publisher of a book about my famous Dog Fleur x

And finally my first addition to the Team play list had to be Mr Brightside (The Killers) Viva La Vida (Coldplay) and September (Earth Wind and Fire)..

Hi , I’m Ally. I used to play a lot of Cricket for Neston and Lancashire/Cheshire.. As we were known then! Got back into Cricket about ten years ago socially.. at a Cricket Festival.. and never looked back. I continue to play cricket regularly (once a year ) and spend much of my free time watching and commenting on others much more talented than myself playing. This will be my second CWB Trip. It really is a case that Sport brings people together. I loved seeing the power of having fun in action through Cricket. I cannot wait to feel that energy again. The photo is me in my Cricket Gear on the hottest day of the year having frogged up Moel the Fame to raise sponsorship for the Nepal Adventure. I work for Essex Cricket in the Community, setting up and delivering projects aimed at getting cricket bats in the hands of children in underserved communities. This is so that they can experience cricket and hopefully develop a lifelong love for the game , as I have. I also coach on the County Age Group pathway and am training to become a Cricket Coach Developer. When I heard about the fantastic work that Cricket Without Boundaries do, I wanted to get involved and use my skills to help the children in other parts of the World. I can’t wait to visit Nepal. Sport has been a big part of my life from the first time I could pick up a bat or an odd shaped ball.. and despite what feels like ten retirements I’m still playing , coaching and this year qualified as an Umpire .

So why CWB? My Sister Becky recently travelled to Uganda with CWB and I saw the positive difference everyone was making and how rewarding it was for the volunteers. As I have recently coached a Ladies team with Daughters and Sister , I thought the cause to provide opportunities to girls just down the road in Nepal was too good to miss.

I’m a keen hiker and landscape photographer so will be heading out early (with three others) to explore Nepal in the lumpy bits.. which will be overwhelming I am sure!

Music for the playlist ? Nepal will be my second trip with CWB and it’s a privilege to meet & coach so many people with this charity. Uganda was a blast of energy and such a great experience.

Over the past 6 years my involvement in women’s and girls cricket has steadily grown. Setting up and captaining (with the help of friends & family, especially Coach Simon) a Women’s section of a local club that went on to win the first County hardball league, Training as a cricket coach to set up Under 11’s girls & U13’s girls teams and then coaching girls U13 county age groups, street cricket and the Cambridge girls MCC foundation hub. If people have needed a female coach I’ve aimed to be there and make it fun.

Other than cricket coaching, my other interests are running a Soft Tissue Therapy, Pilates, Sauna, PT Business. I love aromatherapy, running, cooking, lifting weights, CrossFit, crafting and being with my teenage children. As for music ? A bit of everything suits me best!

Hi all , I’m Lara, London born, California Based and long term Cricket Tragic.
