It\u2019s an unbelievable number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some sessions we have taken an entire school of 500 kids\ninto a dust-filled field, with sharp long grass, wondering how we could ever\nrun a session for that many kids of varying ages. From the moment we arrive, they\nare charging at the bus, waiting for the bus doors to open. We brace ourselves,\ntie up the hair under the hat and smile. As we step off the bus it\u2019s all high\nfives and <em>Jambo<\/em> and it\u2019s impossible not to get caught up in the kids\u2019\ntidal wave of energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s chaos much of the time, the kids stampeding towards our stations, but with each day that passes we\u2019re getting better at wringing order from the chaos. How could it be otherwise, when you\u2019re leading an entire school through cricket drills they\u2019ve never done? The heart pumps, the adrenaline rushes, but you do what you can, and invariably it proves to be enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/kenya2019\/files\/2019\/09\/IMG_2440-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-68\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/kenya2019\/files\/2019\/09\/IMG_2440-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/kenya2019\/files\/2019\/09\/IMG_2440-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/kenya2019\/files\/2019\/09\/IMG_2440-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cwbblogs.com\/kenya2019\/files\/2019\/09\/IMG_2440.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Each session has its golden moments \u2013 the kid with the particularly bizarre outfit, or the one with the incredible throwing arm, or the one who takes it upon herself to get the other kids into line.
