Day 1 for Team 2

Touched down at the Nairobi Airport in the early hours, we are welcomed with a much appreciated 17 degrees (while most Kenyans are still wearing warm jackets). Starts a five-hour journey from Nairobi to Laikipia, which provides us with many opportunities for naps, accompanied by bumpy roads and DJ G Mac’s playlists. From giraffes welcoming us outside of the airport to colourful chaotic markets on the side of the road, the daily Kenyan life unrolls in front of our eyes and already we feel welcome by people waving at us. Upon our arrival at Storms Resort, we had our first taste of the local cuisine after two-hour wait with our drivers and local coach. While the day is quiet on the cricket front, we are all looking forward to meet the local schools in the days ahead. Usiku mwema (= good night)

In the end this blog does need a complete rewrite after a performance from a local Masai dance group but the best part was when the Masai were terrified by Glenn’s Haka demonstration.
