Saturday was the first of a few early starts in a row as we had to make a 2hr drive from Kisumu to Kericho for a 9am start. It\u2019s becoming a bit of a \u2018thing\u2019 as to who gets on the bus last, this time it was Deeps running down the stairs last, jumping on the bus with supreme athleticism only to be knocked back as his bag didn\u2019t squeeze through the door \u2013 a good start to the day for the rest of us!<\/p>\n
We were all due to train about 50 coaches at Kericho Teachers Training College all day today, when we turned up we had over 200! With resources (us!) spread so thin it\u2019s difficult to give good individual attention in these situations, but we broke them in to groups of about 30 and led them through the technical demonstrations of fielding, bowling & batting. Sometimes it\u2019s difficult to teach basic skills when all they want to do is whack the ball, but I think we all did a good job trying to keep them entertained. They like the way I say \u201cbig circle\u201d for some reason, so getting them to do English impressions lightens the mood\u2026<\/p>\n
This was probably the least glamorous of our accommodations so far. 3 people to a room, 1 bathroom between 6 without basin, no mosquito nets, but having said that I liked the set-up. Everything was a bit greener today, we weren\u2019t playing on dustbowls but grass, there was a good sized common-room for us to eat in and Mac\u2019s portable table-tennis net proved an inspired idea as along with a pack of cards we had an enjoyable games evening.<\/p>\n
The saddest part of the day was saying goodbye to Tracey at about lunchtime, we all miss her, time will tell whether anybody will continue her charismatic approach when we have our next school on Wednesday\u2026\n\t\t
