Well it would have done if Jo and Jonno hadn't been 10 minutes late. And therein did Jonno set out his stall for the day…..
Introductions introduced, TI8 boarded the hopper to Brussels. The pilot drove us halfway there before plucking up the courage to take off and fly for the last 40 minutes! A 2 hour stopover gave the team the chance to Bond over Belgium's finest and it was here that Jonno owned up to the fact that he'd forgotten his Yellow Fever certificate. The look on Jo's face was priceless as she mentally recalled the number of times it is likely to be requested and boarding the Cameroon flight Jules owe need up to having 'had a dream', involving one of the party forgetting a passport. Close enough!
Thankfully, at Younde airport, a photo on an iPhone was enough to get Jonno through passport control, and Victor, the President of the Cameroon Cricket Federation got us out of the airport and into our hotel approximately 16 hours after we first met.
So to bed, 2am, planned to meet for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8am and start at 9am…….
