After a week of coaching, it was time to test the children\u2019s skills, so the Botswana Cricket Association arranged a cricket festival, bringing together the children from the different schools that had been visited during the week.<\/p>\n

As HIV lead, an important focus for me this year is to emphasise the importance of testing, so I was delighted that the Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centre Tebelopele agreed to visit us at the festival, and we were therefore very pleased to welcome social worker and counsellor Moeti Tsapni.<\/p>\n

As we are talking to the children about the importance of testing and knowing your status, I decided that I should be tested, so I now know first-hand what the process entails.<\/p>\n

\"image3\"<\/a>It was very encouraging talking to Moeti about HIV\/AIDS in Botswana, as his feeling was that they were getting alot more young people in, and they were largely testing negative. It was interesting though that it is still largely women who get tested, and Moeti\u2019s feeling was that this is because men are still macho about getting sick.<\/p>\n

We certainly look forward to building the relationship with and working with them again in the future.<\/p>\n
